On October 1, 2024, at approximately 9:33 p.m., Mineral County Sheriff's Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Silver Ford F150 pulling a black enclosed trailer on US95 mile marker 50 within Mineral County.
During the traffic stop, the driver was identified as Michael Brunner by his California Driver's License. A records check revealed the subject had an outstanding Felony Arrest Warrant for Grand Larceny. Once the subject was in custody, K9 LeStrange conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle and alerted. Deputies located 263 marijuana plants inside the enclosed trailer.
Marijuana plants yield approximately 500 grams or 17.5 oz per plant. The seized plants could yield 131,000 grams or 287 lbs at maturity.
Sheriff's deputies charged Brunner with Trafficking Marijuana (which constituted the transportation of illegal substances over 28 grams, as well as for his felony arrest warrant.
Mineral County Sheriff's Office reminds everyone that street, or black market cannabis, offers no quality control in terms of purity. It may contain traces of other drugs that could put your life at risk.
