The Silver State Chronicle is Nevada’s newest online news source, created to address the issue of “News Deserts” across the rural and frontier parts of our state. We will be covering all rural communities in Nevada as well as the vast stretches in between that are home to our abundant natural resource-based economies, our beautiful wildlife, and the amazing stretches of the basin and ranges we call home.
When I first started The Fallon Post online in January of 2019, I was very clear that we would not be printing – I had bought into the myth that “print is dead” but in the fall of 2020 we started printing the paper and have done so every Friday since. So I won’t say it again here. We just don’t know for sure if there will be a demand for a printed, statewide, rural paper so if that’s up your alley drop me a note at [email protected] and let me know.
I’m proud to work with a great team of award-winning journalists, local volunteers on the ground in our communities, and people who care deeply about Nevada and our way of life. We are working hard to fill these “pages” and keep everyone informed about what is happening, who is involved, and what we need to know to make good decisions, elect good people, and build a strong, educated and informed state-wide community.
At the Silver State Chronicle, we aim to be the trusted source of news and information to keep rural Nevadans informed and active in their communities. We intend to bring together engaged and informed readers who are comfortable participating in the “public Square” because they are knowledgeable and connected. We believe that our content has the power to educate, inspire, and entertain, and we are committed to delivering the best possible experience to our readers.
Please help us spread the word and let all your friends and family know that there is a newspaper out here now that cares about Rural Nevada and is working to tell our stories.
Thank you and we’re looking forward to serving you.
