From Traffic Stop to Trafficking Arrest - Mineral County Deputies Sieze 60 Pounds of Meth, Two Men Arrested

On March 19, Mineral County Sheriff Bill Ferguson released information regarding a large-scale drug trafficking arrest that led to two arrests and the seizure of 60 pounds of methamphetamine.

According to the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 7:01 p.m. on March 15, deputies conducted a routine traffic stop on a 2020 black Chevrolet Malibu with Oregon license plate CU70386. The stop occurred on U.S. 95 near mile marker 51 in Mineral County, Nevada, after the vehicle was observed exceeding the posted speed limit by 1 to 10 mph.

During the stop, deputies became suspicious after speaking with the vehicle’s occupants. The driver was identified as Cameron Miller of Washington state, and the passenger was identified as Kiez White of Oregon.

Miller, the registered owner of the vehicle, consented to a search. Deputies discovered 60 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in multiple compartments throughout the vehicle. A small amount of cocaine and two loaded firearms were also recovered.

According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, the estimated street value of the methamphetamine exceeds $2 million.

Both suspects were booked into the Mineral County Detention Facility on the following charges:

Cameron Miller, pictured left:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance
  • Driving on a suspended driver’s license
  • Prohibited person in possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a controlled substance

Kiez White, pictured right. 

  • Trafficking a controlled substance

The investigation remains under the jurisdiction of the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office.
